In a survey conducted post-President Trump's inauguration, Obama secured the top spot with a 59% favorability rating, contrasting with Biden's 39% at the bottom. Trump and Clinton share the second-lowest position at 48%, followed by George W. Bush at 52%.
Public Perception Insights
Obama, Bush, and Clinton enjoy more favorable than unfavorable views among Americans. Trump's standing remains evenly divided, with 50% expressing disapproval. Biden, on the other hand, faces a 57% unfavorability rating.
Obama's popularity has sustained post-presidency, while Bush's favorability has slightly declined due to increased unfamiliarity among the public. Clinton's image has improved with fewer unfavorable views and a rise in neutral opinions.
Challenges Faced by Biden
Despite Biden's initial approval nearing 60%, it plummeted following the Afghanistan withdrawal and ongoing concerns over his handling of various issues like the Israel-Hamas conflict, immigration, and the economy. Recent polls show a record low approval just before his term concluded.
The Gallup poll, conducted from Jan. 21-27 among 1,001 American adults, has a margin of error of +/- 4 percentage points.
